San Francisco went the entire game without punting — converting its first five possessions for the first time since the 2021 season.
The 49ers converted their first seven third-down attempts, the first time the franchise had done that since Oct. 2, 2016 against Dallas. The longest such streak to open a game in franchise history came when Joe Montana’s unit ran off more in a 24–17 win over Tampa Bay on Nov. 18, 1984, per the Elias Sports Bureau.
Jeffery Simmons’ sack, forced fumble, and touchdown reception in the same game made him only the sixth player to accomplish that combination since sacks became an official NFL stat in 1982 — J.J. Watt (twice, Houston, 2014), Mike Vrabel (2007), Jared Allen (2017), and Barry Krauss (1982) are the others.
Left tackle Trent Williams earned a career-high 95.6 PFF grade, per 49ers.com post-game reporting.
Tennessee had not won consecutive games since November 2022 and finished the week tied for the worst record in the NFL at 2–12.
